It takes one person ! And a big crowd of actors!!

I have never had an experience/ assignment like this in my entire life. So on Thursday September 23, my teacher gave the Acting Academy an assignment for out field trip to SYTYCD Results show. We were anxious because she said that she was going to mark how successful we are at her assignment. Mrs. Thomas challenge to the class was to make Dillon Singh (aka Mickey G) look like he was a famous rapper called Mickey G. We were all assigned roles like a body guard, director, groupies, dancer, overly happy and etc. I was really impressed on how believable we made the whole experience. Many people began to believe it and they became so excited about the fact that there was a “celebrity” in the building. Even though the security was threatening to kick us out, we still continued our assignment in hopes of getting level fives.
This experience taught me that anyone has the potential to become a celebrity if they have good support. Our society is built on popularity, therefore many people adapt to the thought of the majority. There were people who where interested in who Mickey G was just because he had fans who were following him. If Mickey G wants to be famous, then he can become famous as long as he has the right crowd supporting him. If he is in the right environment and setting then producers, directors and people in the industry would be interested in signing him.

There is power in popularity.

The Essence of the Actor

"We are the light in a dark theatre"

This quote means that the actors who are on film/or stage have an huge impact on the audience who view the performance. Many people in life dont have the chance to live expriences that they dream of having or wanted to have. In life we do not get the chance to see, hear, and feel the feeling that different people around the world feel on a daily basis. Therefore the audience looks to the actors to give them the feelings and emotions that they couldnt create on their own. For an actor to be successful in giving off the right emotions, they have to learn how to find that "box" of feeling that they have from withing. It is important that they use the emotions and pull on them to create that realistic character that is believeable to the audience. The audience relys on that actor to give them the feelings of joy, peace, happiness, excitement, fear, sadness and etc. It is up to the actor use the feelings and create new exprience so that they are stellar in their performance. Many actor have to put themselves in situations so that they have a bigger inventoty of emotions to pull on. It is not easy trying to re-use the feelings from a past experience. However, an actor must learn to have that essence so that they can shine their light in the darkness of a theatre.

The Begining of my Last Year

Wow.. I cant believe that im in grade 12 already. The time has flyed past soo fast. Honestly I  havent taken it in yet, I have to think about my grade when someone asks me what grade im in. Being in grade 12 mean you have to prepare for all that important stuff, like university. And you have to plan out the rest of your life and where you want to go. I really dont think that im ready for that.  However, I am so excited to start of my last year in the Acting Academy. Being apart of stage life last year was so fun, that I couldnt wait to begin soo much new and exciting expriences with my class mates. Mrs. Thomas has discussed the different events, performances, and tasks that we will be working on this semister. Everything that she said sounded soo soo hard, but I know that at the end of the day, I will be successful. Many of her former students came in and gave us some "encouraging words" however it felt more like a warning to how much hmwk will be pounced on us. The thought of everything is overwelming, but knowing that im working with such a great class and it makes everything alot more eaiser.
