I have never had an experience/ assignment like this in my entire life. So on Thursday September 23, my teacher gave the Acting Academy an assignment for out field trip to SYTYCD Results show. We were anxious because she said that she was going to mark how successful we are at her assignment. Mrs. Thomas challenge to the class was to make Dillon Singh (aka Mickey G) look like he was a famous rapper called Mickey G. We were all assigned roles like a body guard, director, groupies, dancer, overly happy and etc. I was really impressed on how believable we made the whole experience. Many people began to believe it and they became so excited about the fact that there was a “celebrity” in the building. Even though the security was threatening to kick us out, we still continued our assignment in hopes of getting level fives.
This experience taught me that anyone has the potential to become a celebrity if they have good support. Our society is built on popularity, therefore many people adapt to the thought of the majority. There were people who where interested in who Mickey G was just because he had fans who were following him. If Mickey G wants to be famous, then he can become famous as long as he has the right crowd supporting him. If he is in the right environment and setting then producers, directors and people in the industry would be interested in signing him.
